Homecoming

Once gain Technical Services participated in the homecoming department decorating contest.  This year 24 campus departments, 9 student organizations, and 7 residential communities participated in the contest. While we did not win the people's choice trophy (watch out Meyorhoff Scholars because Tricia is out for revenge), we did win 1st place in the judge's choice category. We left quite the impression with our tailgate themed decor. Thank you to everyone for participating.

Book Nook - Staff Suggestions

Everyone is always looking for a good book to read. This months suggestions come from Heather and Tricia

6 Young Adult Books I loved (Heather)
Thumbnail for North of Beautiful... Chen, Justina. North of Beautiful. (Coming-of-age novel about a girl with a controlling father.)
Thumbnail for The Facts Speak for... Cole, Brock. The Facts Speak for Themselves. (Teen novel about a girl in foster care. Poignant.)
Thumbnail for Catherine, Called... Cushman, Karen. Catherine, Called Birdy. (Historical teen fiction about a girl in England in the middle ages. Funny!)
Thumbnail for Gone Grant, Michael. Gone. (First book in a series about kids in a town where all the adults have mysteriously disappeared.)
Thumbnail for Gossamer Lowry, Lois. Gossamer. (Short, fairy-tale-like book about the creatures who are responsible for human dreams. Very sweet book.)
Thumbnail for Fracture Miranda, Megan. Fracture. (Teen novel about a girl who dies in an accident but is revived, with mixed results. Thought-provoking.)

Tricia also recommends  a YA book:
Thumbnail for Divergent (Book 1) Roth, Veronica. Divergent.  This is book 1 of a trilogy.
