Special Collections would like to thank student assistant Max Tanzer for scanning nearly 300 glass plate negatives over the Winter Break. Max was instrumental in kicking off our digitization of the Hughes Company 8 x 10 in. glass plate negatives, which include many scenes from Baltimore: Baltimore and environs - Promotional and advertising photographs - Businesses - Churches - Schools - Monuments - Factories - Portraits - Signs - Etc. - c.1905-1940.

Our current student assistants and staff are continuing to scan this large collection, and are also doing a wonderful job of creating the digital images and recording basic metadata. We'll keep you updated on the progress.
