  • Every week, check the status of pending orders (in the Out-of-Print or OSI tray) as well as any new rush or priority orders that have been confirmed by the publisher as out-of-print.
  • Record the date and your initials on the RUSH OP/OSI searching log.
    1. Search Facets using the title. Their database changes often, and sometimes OP films are released again.
    2. If not found on Facets, search Amazon using the title. It is okay to order from Amazon sellers for OP videos. Click on _ (number) new & used to access this if the item is available.
    3. Print the Amazon product detail page(s) and the Amazon Marketplace page(s) with the price and vendor name visible.
    4. If not found on Buy Indies, search Amazon Canada using the title.
    5. Print the page of product details.
    6. If not found on Amazon Canada, search Amazon UK using the title.
    7. Print the Amazon product detail page(s) and the Amazon Marketplace page(s) with the price and vendor name visible.

    11. Print the Amazon product detail page(s) and the Amazon Marketplace page(s) with the price and vendor name visible.
    12. If the item we are seeking is not available from any of these vendors, search Google. Try different combinations. Try searching for the title, director, and actors.
    13. Print any pages containing product details, taking care to get the condition of the video on the printout if it is used, and the seller's details.
    14. If none of these searches have proved fruitful, try using Google to locate the production company's email or mailing address. A search of the company's name may bring up current contact information. If you cannot locate the production company's name from any of the printouts, check the USMAI record. If the item is a Bib null, ask your supervisor for assistance in determining the production company's name.
    15. Print any relevant information. If you found contact information for the production company, give the order to your supervisor.
  • If no record is found of the item anywhere, record your searches on the Out-of-Print slip and refile the order in the Out-of-Print or OSI tray.
  • Update the requestor on the status of these orders every 6 months.
