- If the new user has a non-UMBC e-mail address, they've registered to receive notices. There is no need to do anything.If the user has a UMBC e-mail address, seach the UMBC directory to determine if they are faculty, staff, or student.
- If the new user is faculty, give them submission privileges for their department's collection:
- Go to MD-SOAR and log in.
- Navigate to the appropriate collection.
- Click "Edit Collection"
- Click "Assign Roles"
- Click the link in the Submitter's box
- Type the name into the search box
- Click e-people
- Click the "Add" button that appears next to the persons name
- Click save.
- If the new user is staff, give them any privileges previous negotiated. Otherwise there is no need to do anything.
- If the new user is a student, give them submission privileges if a faculty member has indicated that they will be submitting work. Otherwise there is no need to do anything.
