  1. If the new user has a non-UMBC e-mail address, they've registered to receive notices. There is no need to do anything.If the user has a UMBC e-mail address, seach the UMBC directory to determine if they are faculty, staff, or student.
  2. If the new user is faculty, give them submission privileges for their department's collection:
    1. Go to MD-SOAR and log in.
    2. Navigate to the appropriate collection.
    3. Click "Edit Collection"
    4. Click "Assign Roles"
    5. Click the link in the Submitter's box
    6. Type the name into the search box
    7. Click e-people
    8. Click the "Add" button that appears next to the persons name
    9. Click save.
  3. If the new user is staff, give them any privileges previous negotiated. Otherwise there is no need to do anything.
  4. If the new user is a student, give them submission privileges if a faculty member has indicated that they will be submitting work. Otherwise there is no need to do anything.
