Each shell in Blackboard is restricted to a size limitation of 1GB or 1024MBlimit of 500 MBs. You will automatically receive the error notification from Blackboard each day if your course has exceeded the size limit and you will no longer be able to upload any additional items to your course. Additionally, a similar email will be sent as a warning when you course is nearing the limit, but not yet reached it. The warning is set at 900MB.

There is also a 100 75 MB (per file) quota for any file that you upload to Blackboard.

These quotas are necessary to properly manage storage resources and ensure adequate system performance.

Info

If you require more storage for your course, DoIT recommends migrating your content to Google Drive or Box cloud storage.
