Other languages  must already be activated - see How do I change my keyboard to another language?

PC, Windows 7

  1. Go to Start >Control Panel> Ease of Access > Ease of Access Center.
  2. Click the Start On-Screen Keyboard option.
  3. Select the Options button, on lower right to customize the way the on-screen keyboard works on your PC.

MAC,  OSX 10.7

  1. open program you will be using
  2. switch keyboard by clicking on the America flag at the top right - down arrow to language needed
  3. return to  flag/keyboard menu and select Show Keyboard Viewer - a virtual keyboard will open.
    If not available, click on open Language and Text Preferences then click Input Source Tab, put check in Keyboard & Character Viewer.
    Press the Shift, Option or Shift + Option for hot keys( e.g. accents) - may appear yellow in newer versions

  1. At Apple icon, choose System Preferences, then Language and Text.
  2. Select the Input Sources tab.
  3. Check the box next to Keyboard and Character Viewer.
  4. To Use The On Screen Keyboard:
    1. Select the icon in the Status Menu and the virtual keyboard will appear.
