If you already have a UMBC MathWorks account: Click Sign In and type in your credentials. Once you are signed in, go to the top right-hand corner of the page and click on your name, select My Account, click the download arrow that is under My Software (as shown in the image directly below) and then proceed directly to step 6. NOTE: If for some reason you don't see any license, go back to the top right-hand corner of the page, click on your name, select Associate License, and then enter the appropriate faculty/staff or student stand-alone activation key.
If you don't have a UMBC MathWorks account: Click Sign In, and toward the bottom of the page, click Create Account, and then proceed to step 2.
2) Type in your UMBC email address and fill in all the requested information that is displayed on the page. Click Create when you are finished. For How will you use MathWorks software?, choose Teaching or research in school if you are faculty, a researcher, or grad student. If you are a student, choose Student use.
3) MathWorks will ask you to verify the UMBC email address you provided in step 2. Follow the directions that are displayed on the page to verify the email address.
4) Fill in the required information that is displayed on the page and click Create when you are finished. In the School/University section, type in University of Maryland Baltimore County. For Associate Your Account to a License, type in the appropriate faculty/staff or student stand-alone Activation Key.
5) Click Downloads application.
6) Download the installer for your desired version of MATLAB.
7) After downloading the installer, click on it to run it. Select Log in with a MathWorks Account and click Next to begin the installation process.

To sign in to your UMBC MathWorks account, go here and sign in using your myUMBC credentials.
To download MATLAB, in the My Software page of your UMBC MathWorks account, click the down arrow next to the MATLAB license that is listed.
Download the MATLAB installer. After downloading the installer, click the installer to run it.
Enter the credentials for your UMBC MathWorks Account, click Sign In, and select Yes to accept the license agreement and then click Next to continue the setup.
9) Enter the credentials for the MathWorks account that you created earlier in this guide into the the labeled fields and click Next to proceed with the installation.
10) Make sure Select a license is selected and shows UMBC's campus license in the list, and then click Next to proceed with the MATLAB installation. NOTE: If for some reason you do not have a UMBC campus license associated with your account, select Enter an Activation Key for a license not listed, enter the appropriate faculty/staff or student stand-alone activation key and then click Next to associate your account with the UMBC MATLAB license.
11) Click Next to enter an install directory for MATLAB. If prompted to create the directory, click Yes.
12) Click Next to proceed with the installation.
13) Select if you want shortcuts and then press Next.
14) Click Install to begin the installation. NOTE: The installation may take a while to complete.
15) Click Next to continue.
16) Select Activate MATLAB and click Next to proceed with the activation.
17) Click Next to proceed with the activation.
18) Click Confirm to confirm the activation.
19) Click Finish to complete the installation.
