Tell me
- Open Microsoft Outlook 2010
- Click File, then Info, then Add Account
- Click the radio button to the left of Manually configure server settings or additional server types
- Click Next
- Click the radio button to the left of Internet E-mail
- Click Next
- A window entitle Add New E-mail Account will open
Under the User Information header:- Enter your full name in the Your Name field
- Enter your UMBC email address in the E-mail Address field
- Under the Server Information header:
- Select IMAP from the Account Type drop-down menu
- Enter imap.gmail.com in the Incoming mail server field
- Enter smtp.gmail.com in the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) field
- Under the Logon Information header:
- Enter your UMBC email address in the User Name field
- Enter your UMBC password in the Password field
- Make sure to check the Remember Password check box
- Click More Settings
- In the Internet E-mail Settings window that opens, click on the Outgoing Server tab
- Check the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication check box
- Click Use same settings as my incoming mail server
- In the same Internet E-mail Settings window, click on the Advancedtab
- For the Incoming server (IMAP), select SSL from the Use the following type of encrypted connection drop down menu
- Make sure the text field next to Incoming server (IMAP) is set to 993
- For the Outgoing server (SMTP), select TLS from the Use the following type of encrypted connection drop down menu
- Make sure the text field next to Outgoing server (SMTP) is set to 587
- Click OK on the Internet E-mail Settings window
- Click Next on the Add New E-mail Account window
- Click Finish on the Add New E-mail Account
- Outlook is now configured to send and receive your UMBC E-mail from on and off campus.
