Technical Overview

Project Goals of the Technical Team

Recognizing the project is functionally driven, UMBC's Technical Team's primary goal is to support the SA Project and address all project related technical needs. Our Secondary goals are to:

1) Prepare ourselves so we can provide a high level of support as each module goes live.

2) Partner with the Functional Leads to learn how system is being configured/designed so we can provide a high level of support as each module goes lives.

Progress

Upgraded to V9.0
Through OIT's partnership with the functional departments (CPS, Grad, Ugrad), UMBC successfully upgraded the Campus Solutions-Recruitment system from version 8.9 to 9.0.
Data Conversion
In partnership with the functional units, the Technical staff is writing conversion programs to move Legacy data into the PeopleSoft environment.
New Hardware
To provide the processing power needed to support Student Self-Service, Faculty Self-Service and internal staff processing of HRMS and SA functions within 1 environment, UMBC is moving towards a scaleable physical multi-tiered environment. UMBC has procured, installed and configured the new Architecture. Currently, the project teams are testing HR and SA-Recruit on 1 database using the new Architecture.
