Checking that Web of Science Corrections Were Made

  • Go the library website and click Advanced Search

  • Click databases A-Z, then click on W, scroll down to Web of Science, and click on it to access the database.

  • Make sure your marked list is empty by clicking on the marked list icon. If it’s not, click on Documents, select them all, and click “Remove.”

  • For each item that needs to be check:

    • Copy and paste the WOS number into the search Box and search

    • Click the box next to the title of the work

    • Click on “Add To Marked list”

  • Click on the marked list icon, then on Documents.

  • Click on Export and select Excel.

  • Click the circle next to “Records from:”

  • In the drop down, change to to Full Record.

  • Click “Export.”

  • Open the exported file, and check the UMBC is now given in the affiliations. If it’s not, on the spreadsheet with correction requested, find the item that still doesn’t have UMBC in the affiliations. Highlight it in red, and insert “correction not made” before the correction.

  • On the task in Workast, add subtask for “Correction Confirming,” attach the spreadsheet showing which corrections were and were not made, and assign it to Michelle.
