I went to report a suspicious email and it disappeared. What happened to it?
If a concerning email disappeared from your inbox before you were able to open it or report it, this is due to the DOIT Security group “quarantining” the email.
Whenever an email is reported and deemed as a potential phishing email, the email is removed from all inboxes. This prevents other people from potentially falling for the phishing attack and repeated reports on the same email.
Remember that phishing emails also often try to impersonate time sensitive and urgent messages. While it can be concerning to see an urgent email disappear, rest assured that the email was likely a phishing attempt that was pulled from your inbox.
