How do I access Wolfram Products?


To access Wolfram products, please follow the instructions below.

 For Faculty/Staff
  1. If you already have a UMBC Wolfram account, skip directly to step 2 to sign in to the Wolfram User Portal. If you don't have a UMBC Wolfram account, please follow these instructions:
    • Go to the Create a Wolfram ID page and use your UMBC email address to create a your account. Follow the onscreen instructions to validate your account.
  2. Sign in to the Wolfram User Portal. Once you are signed in, you can request access to the following products:
  • Mathematica Desktop for personally owned machines
    1. Go here to get the License Number and then complete the faculty/staff home-use request form using the License Number where it asks for the activation key.
    2. Go to the Wolfram User Portal.
    3. Click the My Products and Services tab and then click Get downloads for the listed Mathematica product to get to the download page. Click Download next to the version of Mathematica you want.
    4. Open the installer you downloaded and follow the onscreen instructions to install Mathematica (go here if you need more detailed install instructions).
    5. When Mathematica first launches, type in the Activation Key you received from step 1 and then click Activate to complete the activation.
  • Mathematica Desktop for UMBC-Owned machines
    1. To receive an activation key, fill out the faculty/staff Activation Key request form. Under Select a product, make sure to select Mathematica for Sites (Single Machine).
    2. Go to the Wolfram User Portal.
    3. Click the My Products and Services tab and then click Get downloads for the listed Mathematica product to get to the download page. Click Download next to the version of Mathematica you want.
    4. Open the installer you downloaded and follow the onscreen instructions to install Mathematica (go here if you need more detailed install instructions).
    5. When Mathematica first launches, type in the Activation Key you received from step 1 and then click Activate to complete the activation.
  • Wolfram|Alpha Notebook Edition for UMBC-owned or personally owned machines
    • Fill out this form to request an Activation Key
    • Go to the Wolfram User Portal to access your license.
    • Select your platform next to "Download" to download installer.
    • Run the installer on your machine and enter Wolfram ID at prompt.
 For Students
