Ensuring your RT at a Glance page is set up efficiently can not only help save you time, but it also ensures that it is set up in a way that does not overburden the RT system as a whole. Many of the queries that can end up on the RT at a Glance page, such as "My Closed Tickets" or "My Assigned Closed Tickets," are resource intensive and better used as Saved Searches since they don't need to be refreshed every few minutes.

Saved Searches

RT offers several saved system searches. In order to prevent users from unintentionally adding unnecessary searches to their RT at a Glance page and consequently having these queries, many of which are resource-intensive, auto-refresh with the RT at a Glance page, we've implemented changes to Saved Searches.

If you wish to access these saved searches, you can add links to the saved searches back to your RT at a Glance page with the following instructions:

  1. Click Edit below the search box in the top right-hand corner of the RT at a Glance page.
  2. In the RT at a glance: body section find "Saved Searches" in the Available: box.
  3. Once you've selected "Saved Seaches," click the arrow to move the Saved Searches module to the body section of your RT at a Glance Page.
  4. To return to your RT at a Glance page, click Home in the top left-hand corner.

If you wish to add an individual saved search, follow the instructions above, and select the name of the saved search you'd like to add from the list. The saved searches begin with "Saved Search:".

Because many of these searches are resource intensive, we recommend that you only add searches you need to see at a glance, and avoid adding searches like "ALL SPAM or TEST tickets" to your RT at a Glance page if you have the page set to auto-refresh at a set intervals.

Resetting the RT at a Glance Page

If you've recently logged into RT to find that your RT at a Glance page no longer shows any modules, you can use the instructions below to reset your RT at a Glance page back to default settings.

  1. Click Edit in the top right-hand corner of the RT page under the Search box.
  2. On the page that loads, scroll to the bottom of the page and select Reset to default.
  3. Click Home in the top left-hand corner to be taken back to RT at a Glance.
