Submission & Approval Deadlines
Some deadlines may shift depending on State or UMBC Holidays.
When should employees submit?
Generally, submit timesheets by Monday following the close of the pay period.
Employees may submit early if they won’t be available later, as long as hours are accurate.
When should approvers approve?
Begin reviewing as soon as timesheets are Submitted.
Complete approvals by 11:59 p.m. Thursday following the end of the pay period.
Approvers cannot finalize approvals before the pay period closes, but they can review early.
If a submitted timesheet is not approved in time
Summary:
Exempt employees:
Still receive their normal biweekly pay.
Leave balances will not update if leave was recorded on an unapproved timesheet.
Nonexempt employees:
Hours will not load into departmental time entry.
The employee will not be paid for that period until the timesheet is properly submitted and approved.
