How do I organize my migrated media in YuJa?

After your media is migrated from Panopto to YuJa, you will see media content in your YuJa media library. The media will be organized within folders that reflects the structure in Panopto in which you have saved videos.

Clicking on each folder will reveal its media contents. The folder structure will appear as below, showing the Panopto course folder names and your personal folders, as well as any subfolders containing media.

As a first step, it recommended that you audit and organize your media content in YuJa so that your media content is fully searchable and sharable. Then, you may organize your contents into a folder structure that you create.

Tell Me

  1. Log in to your YuJa account.

  2. Navigate to "My Media" from the left-hand menu.

  3. Look for the "New Folder" button at the top of the media library and click it.

  4. Enter a name for your new folder

  5. Click "Save".

  6. Your new folder will appear in the left panel, and you can then drag and drop videos into it for organization.

  7. To create sub-folders, double-click the parent folder and repeat the process.

  8. Move media into folders by dragging and dropping videos into the folder or move media in bulk into folders.

Strategies to Consider

  1. Utilize folders and sub-channels

    • Your folders imported based on previous course names, or folders you manually created. Consider creating new folders to group content as you review media that fits these categories:

      • Media you want/need to keep and reuse right away

      • Media you want/need to revise and re-record

      • Media you want/need to archive or trash.

        • Deleted videos will go to your Recycling Bin where they will stay for 60 days before being permanently deleted.

    • Channels are used to present content to students and other users. You can create sub-channels for specific themes or lessons, such as weekly topics.

  2. Leverage bulk actions

    • Bulk actions include move and copy to relocate content into folders and channels. Use these for maximum efficiency.

    • Apply tags to videos for easier searching and filters across your library.

  3. Refine metadata

    • If your imported videos need to be renamed, now is the time to do it. Descriptive videos make it easier for you AND your students to know what the video contains (e.g., Week 1 Lecture - Intro to Marketing).

    • Consider adding a description for the video, metadata, or other details to improve searchability and context.

  4. Integrate with Blackboard content
