How do I submit an IT Project?

IT projects that require significant DoIT effort must be submitted through the Project Proposal process managed by the DoIT Project Management Office (PMO). Projects can be submitted as Ideas or full Project Proposals, dependent upon where the project is in discovery efforts.

Use the Idea Form to submit a concept or initiative where you need DoIT assistance to define the technical requirements. The DoIT PMO can assist with helping to find a solution, project discovery, stakeholder identification, and determining goals and needs.

  • Required fields include: Project Goals, Strategic Alignment, and Project Sponsor.

  • Optional fields include: Resources, Timeline, and Budget, if known.

  • As the intention and purpose of the Idea is clarified and scoped, the Idea Form will be enhanced to develop a full Project Proposal.

If your project is already well-structured, has clear goals and scope, and approval from your division’s leaders, use the Project Proposal Form to submit your project to the DoIT PMO. Please keep in mind that projects in the DoIT PMO involve significant DoIT effort and require DoIT leadership approval and commitment to dedicate resources.

  • Required fields include: Project Goals, Organizational Impact, Stakeholder Committees, Resources, Budget, Timeline, Risks, and Strategic Alignment.
