Roles in Webex Events
The Host has control over every aspect of the event and can change the roles of people in the meeting at any time.
The Presenter can share their screen. There can only be one Presenter at a time, by default it is the Host. The Presenter role can be passed to any Panelist.
Panelists have the ability to share audio and video and are visible to all attendees.
Attendees cannot unmute their microphones or share their video unless the host unmutes their microphone for them or promotes them to a Panelist.
Change the Role of a Panelist
- In the Participants window, right-click on the Panelist whose role you would like to switch. Hover over Change Role To and select the role you would like to switch. This is useful for giving a Panelist the ability to share their screen (Presenter), giving them Host permissions, or demoting them to an Attendee.
Change the Role of an Attendee
- In the Participants window, click View All Attendees.
- A pop-up will appear displaying all of the Attendees. Select the Attendee(s) and click Unmute, Make Panelist, or Expel.
