The truck contains - A. Call number problems; B. Books that should be Folios; C. Low barcodes.

*A. Books with label call number problem*

1. Call number hard to read

Scan barcode to open Item window to check the call number.

a) If the call number shown in the Item window matches the call number on the title page verso of the book, Insert a relabel slip into the book.

b) If they do not match:

1) Check the book title, author, and publication date to match the record.

2) Use call number in the record 050 field, if no 050 field; use call number in 090 field.

3) The call number in the Item window and the call number on title page verso should match the call number in the record. Make corrections for any mistakes by change the call number in Holdings and/or the title verso page, and then insert a relabel slip into the book.

c) More problems found - give the books to Ping.

d) Place relabel books on Relabel Truck.

2. Call number on book does not match call number in Aleph

Use procedure 1. b), c), and d)

3. Same call number different titles; same title, call number different authors; or different call numbers have a same title ... - all give to Ping.

B. Books should be changed to Folios

Use FOLIO for general collections when the size of a book is larger than 26 cm in any directions.

a) Wand barcode, then open the Holdings window from the Item window.

b) Change STACK to FOLIO in the Holdings window and save it.

c) Add FOLIO above the call number on title page verso.

d) Insert a relabel slip into the book.

e) Place finished books on Relabel Truck.

C. Barcodes are too low for self checking out

a) Wand barcode to open the item window.

b) Take off book jacket if any.

c) Stick a new barcode on the top left corner of the book's front cover.

d) Wand a new barcode to replace the old one in the Item window.

e) Peel off the old barcode or toss the book jacket.

f) Insert a mending slip for any books need to be mended, check with Jo Ann for any mending questions.

g) After finishing the whole truck, verify all the books on the truck by wanding barcode to match call number in the Item window with the call number on the book.

h) Books with mending slips - give to Jo Ann.

i) Send the finished truck to Circulation.
