Branding:
EDS profiles have two basic kinds of branding. 'Top' branding which is visible to the user - labels on fields, border colors and so forth, and 'bottom' branding, which can be visible to the user (e.g. text), but is usually the place where code is inserted to make the profile function better, such as scripts to change the order of the catalog display, or Google Analytics trackers, or scripts to automatically append limiters to searches performed within the profile.
Search Boxes:
Search boxes are how EDS is integrated into the AOK Library website. Rather than integrating a default or custom EDS API into the AOK website itself, the library index (front) page simply has EBSCO search fields built into the divisions for each profile, which users can access by clicking on the search-box-area tabs ("Everything", "Books, Music, Video," "Articles" and "A-Z Journal List"). These search boxes are the "basic" search option, meaning they are a single field requiring Boolean operators and parentheses to do complex searches. A search performed in this field simply relays the search terms to the EDS profile on EBSCO's server and executes the search there. The "advanced" search option is a link below each 'basic' search box, taking the user to the multi-field option on the EDS native interface for that profile.
