Your Career Center card is a tool to track your engagement with the Career Center and maximize your career readiness, and is accessible via your myUMBC Profile. There are 5 parts to your Career Center myUMBC Profile Card. You can complete those sections by performing the following actions:
Career Goals: Set your career goals by visiting UMBCworks and under "Find a career you'll love!" click on "Get Started" at the top of the UMBCWorks dashboard.
Resume: Get your resume reviewed and approved by a Career Center staff member by following the simple instructions detailed on the Career Center website. Once your resume is approved in the system, you can continue to update it directly for your internship and job search needs. It is always a good idea to update your resume at the end of each semester.
Appointments/Meeting: Scheduling an appointment with a Career Center staff member can be accomplished online (via UMBCworks), in person (Math/Psychology 201), or by phone (410-455-2216). Take a look at our Appointments page for the various ways we can work with you from resume critiques and interview prep to career decision making.
Workshops & Events: Attend an upcoming event! We'd love to see you. A full listing of events is available on the Career Center calendar.
Internship / Co-op / Research: Gaining real-world experience through internship, research, or a co-op experience is one of the best ways to make yourself a competitive candidate for full-time jobs and graduate school after you graduate. More information is available on our Internships page.
As time passes, you may notice your check marks fading to a gray dotted line. It's a great reminder to revisit that part of your career readiness!
