Cisco Webex Room Kit Features:
The Cisco Webex Room Kit combines an AI-powered video conferencing system with microphones, speakers, and a high-quality camera. This unit can recognize you upon entrance and will follow your voice as you speak and move around the room while utilizing automatic framing and automatic noise suppression. You can turn this or any feature off along with the camera tracking right from the home screen.
- This unit is integrated with UMBC’s Webex platform and identity management system. To use; after starting a Webex Meeting on your computer simply go under the ‘Audio & Video’ tab to: ‘Connect to a Video System…’ Cisco Room Kit will now be in use as your Camera, Microphone and Speaker.
- System can also be used with a laptop for use with other video conferencing platforms - Zoom, Google Meet, etc. using provided USB or HDMI cables at anytime for direct connection
- Wirelessly display your screen from a Laptop, Android, or iOS device, press the Share button in the middle of the Room Kit main screen, visit the URL listed: <https://devices.webex.com> , enter the 9-digit code provided, then see 4-digit code on top left of Room Kit Screen for confirmation on your device, then share your screen.

How to:
- Connection to Room Kit from a Webex Meeting: You don’t need to press any buttons on the Room Kit Controller. Start a Webex Meeting from your computer, Go under ‘Audio & Video’ in the drop-down menu > ‘Connect to a Video System…’ you should now be using the Room Kit as your Camera and Microphone. Click Disconnect when finished.
- To make a phone call using the Room Kit: Press the Call Button on the right of the Room Kit’s Controller, you can now enter in anyone’s number on campus and call them using Webex.
- Start a Webex Meeting using only the Room Kit: Press the Webex button on the Room Kit, you can now look up anyone’s name in the UMBC Webex system and call their personal room. You can only connect if they are there to answer.
- Access an existing Webex Meeting: Press the Webex button on the right-hand side of the Room Kit, enter in the Meeting Number. Join Webex Meeting and the Room Kit will act as your Camera, Microphone and Speaker.
- Connect and use the Room Kit for Zoom or another video conference platform: Use the provided USB and HDMI cables to connect directly to your computer, you will then ‘see’ the Room Kit listed as a choice form your camera, microphone and speaker as you would with any other USB peripheral.
- To connect and wirelessly display share screen as a guest: Press the middle button the the Room Kit controller, you will see a URL to a Web Page: devices.webex.com. Enter that URL into a Web Browser. You will now see a 9-Digit code, enter that code into the Room Kit Controller. Then look up on the upper-left side of the TV Screen for a 4-Digit code that you then enter into your Bowser for confirmation. You can not share your screen or any open applications with the Room Kit.
When finished, simply disconnect and walk away, the Cisco Room Kit will put itself to sleep.
