Enhanced CDs

An enhanced CD is a regular music CD that has multimedia CD-ROM files on it in addition to the music tracks. Usually, the case prominently displays this information, advertising “multimedia,” “software,” “CD-Extra,” “CD-pluscore” or the like.

These CDs should be cataloged like regular music CDs, with the following additions:

006 makes the record retrievable when searching for computer files

  • If an 006 field beginning with “m” is already present in the record, then leave it as is.
  • To add the 006 field in ALEPH, insert field 006 and type CTRL+F (Open form) and select “Computer Files/Electronic Resources.”

    Form of material (00): m

  • To add the 006 field in Connexion, Edit ► Guided Entry ► Insert 006 ► Computer Files. (You can also use the short cut Ctrl+Alt+Shift+P.)
