Regular communication and interaction with students is critical in any course. Blackboard Announcements, Messages, Discussions, and Groups tools support communication and student engagement.

Announcements & Messages: Quick OverviewIf an instructor publishes an Announcement, all students in the course will see a New Announcement window appear when they access the course. They will need to close the window before accessing course content. Instructors also may send a copy of the Announcement via email. Course Messages can be sent to all course members or to individuals. Messages can be accessed from the Global Messages page in Blackboard and through Course Messages. A copy of Messages sent through the Blackboard Messages tool is sent via email by default.
