In this order, the author is at the top. Make sure you look below and file under the title.
When filing there are certain exceptions:
Do not file under the word The, A or An.
Example: The title : The Green Snail would be filed under Green Snail.
A Green Snail would also be filed under Green Snail
Quotations are ignored
"I'm filing!" She said, would be filed under Im Filing
Dashed Words are treated as one word:
Baby-Sitting: A manual, would be filed under Babysitting
Make sure you file letter by letter
I Like Teddybears would be filed before In A Library because I is one word and is shorter than In.
Another example: On My Desk would go before Only My Love. On is shorter than only, so it goes before.
Numbers are filed in their own special folder titled numbers:
4 Years in Paris would be filed under 4. However, if it is written in word format it is filed under the letter:
Four Years In Paris would be filed in the F folder under Four.
