The Pharos Mobile Print app is still in development and has not yet been released for Android as of this writing. This guide will be updated upon it's release.

Pharos mobile printing enables you to remotely upload images and documents from anywhere on campus to Pharos printer stations. Funds for Pharos printing come from your Campus Card account. For more information about Campus Card and how to add funds to it, please go here: http://campuscard.umbc.edu/about/

Go to this site: mobileprint.umbc.edu
The Pharos print desktop site will open. Type in your UMBC credentials and press "Log in".

Click "Upload". A window will appear asking for the location of the file on your computer that you want to print. Once you select the file, it may take a few moments to finish uploading.

The file will now appear in the job list. To preview the print job, click the print preview icon that is in the "Print Preview" column of the uploaded file's print job. If you want to add more files to the job list, repeat steps 1 - 4.

To customize the output of your print job (color, double or single sided, etc) go to the "Print options" section towards the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

Review your available funds and the total cost of your print jobs.

If you want to delete a file from the job list, select the document from the list and press the "Delete" icon.

  • Now you can go to any Pharos station in the Library or in the Engineering building and swipe your Campus ID Card at the printer to print the files you have uploaded.

    1. Upload your print job by opening a browser & visiting mobileprint.umbc.edu
    2. Sign in using your UMBC username and password.                                                                      
    3. At the upper left corner of the new window, click the "upload" option to upload the document(s) you would like to print. 
    4. Head to a Pharos Print Station.  
    5. If you already have the Pharos Print app setup, open the app and proceed to step 5(c). If this is your first time setting it up, proceed below:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         
      1. Download and install the Pharos Print application from the Google Play store.

      2. Launch the Pharos Print App. Type in mobileprint.umbc.edu for the "Server Address" and 443 for "Server Port" and press "Connect"..

      3. On the next screen, login with your myUMBC username (whatever comes before the @umbc.edu part of your email) and password, and click Log On.

      4. When your are logged on, you will enter the main screen and will see a list of the documents you uploaded. Select the checkbox for the document(s) you want to print:

      5. To change the print options, such as color, double-sided, pages per side, copies and page range. Click on Print options on the bottom right.:

      6. From the main screen, click on the QR code icon on the upper right of the screen and your camera should open. Allow any camera permission request. Scan the QR code by the print station:

      7. A confirmation page will pop-up with the details of your print job. Click on "Confirm" and your print job will be submitted for printing:

    6.
