Tell Me
- Create or edit an assessment.
- Click the gear icon to edit the Settings. A peek panel will open.
- Scroll down to the SafeAssign section.
- Click Enable Originality Report.
- Select Check submissions for plagiarism with SafeAssign.
- Optional: Allow students to view the Originality Report. If you allow multiple attempts, an Originality Report is generated for each attempt a student submits.
- Optional: Choose whether to exclude submissions from the institutional and Global Reference Databases.
- Select Save.
Warning You can enable the SafeAssign Originality Report any time, even after students have started their submissions, but submissions are only checked when SafeAssign is enabled. Submissions received before you enable the setting aren't checked with SafeAssign.
SafeAssign results are hidden while anonymous grading is enabled. After you post grades and names are shown, you can view the SafeAssign results and the Originality Reports.

Why is this better?
By integrating SafeAssign into the Assignment workflow, instructors can now use embedded feedback tools and rubrics. Additionally, if the assignment is set to accept more than one attempt, then multiple SafeAssign reports are also generated. With a couple of clicks, we can designate the assignment as a draft and allow students to submit to SafeAssign to revise their work based on the report, or exclude submissions from the global database. The overall workflow is streamlined and easier to use.
