Filters allow you to manage incoming messages and organize your inbox. Using filters, you can automatically label, archive, delete, star, or forward your mail, based on any combination of keywords, sender, recipients, and more.For example

If you have been the recipient of a number of similar emails that you do not want, you can may use a filter to automatically label or delete emails from specified sendersthese settings to remove these messages and any that may be delivered later.

Method 2 (from the email settings menu):

1. Click the gear icon at the top right of your inbox to  go to the Settings menu.

2. Click See all settings at the top of the resulting pop-up menu.

3. Click Filters and Blocked Addresses at the top of the window.

4. Click Create a new filter.

5. Enter search term in the field for which you wish to filter. You may enter one or more fields.

  • From: where the message is originating
  • Subject: the subject of the message
  • Has the words: specific words or phrases that exist anywhere in the message or the subject

Click Create filter when done.

6. Select Delete it to automatically delete any matching messages. This will impact any new messages. To also filter messages already in your inbox, select Also apply filter to matching conversations.

Whenever you receive a message matching your filters, it will automatically be deleted. Periodically check your Trash folder to ensure you do not accidentally delete wanted messages.
