- In Connexion, create a new Visual Materials record and apply the DVD - basic constant data
- Cataloging → Create → Single Record → Visual Materials (keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + V)
- Edit → Constant Data → Online → Apply from List → OK → DVD - basic → Choose Fields to Apply → Both → Apply Selected
- In the fixed field:
- Code Lang
- jpn for Japanese
- ger for German
- eng for English
- fre for French
- kor for Korean
- Other codes: http://www.loc.gov/marc/languages/language_name.html
- Code Dates
- Most recent date on the item in the first box, leave the second box blank
- Code Lang
- Variable fields:
- 007 - Delete blanks
- 028 42 - Transcribe at least one from the item
- $a publisher number
- $b publisher name
- 245 0x - Transcribe the title as it appears on the container (or on the disc surface if it does not appear on the container).
- The first indicator will always be 0; the second indicator will change based on the initial article. If an article appears, the second indicator will be the number of letters in that article plus one. See language notes below for more information on articles.
- Follow capitalization rules in language note below
- DO NOT add $h videorecording
- 264 _1 - Publisher information; delete blank 260
- $a Add one place of publication from the item; if you can't find a specific one, but there's some indication of a country on the item, put that country in square brackets
