For any questions related to this policy contact the Office of the Registrar . Dropping courses or withdrawing may impact your financial aid eligibility. For questions related to your financial aid eligibility contact the Office of Student Financial Aid. Refund Policy A full or partial refund may be given if you choose not to complete the full session. To qualify, you must officially withdraw online through myUMBC portal. Notification to the instructor does not constitute a proper withdrawal. If you fail to officially drop online, you will be financially responsible for all term charges. Students receiving Title IV, other University and/or State Funds Students receiving TITLE IV aid who withdraw completely may be billed for remaining student account balances resulting from the mandatory return of funds to the U.S. government. For questions related to your financial aid eligibility at the time of withdrawal contact Financial Aid and Scholarships Department. Will this also apply to any Private Scholarship I received? Yes, any funds received from private donor’s need to be sent back to the donor. Please contact the donor and have them fill out a W9 form and we will process the payment. The funds cannot be refunded to the student. What if the Scholarship funds were refunded to me already? Once you notify us of your withdrawal from the school, a W9 form would be needed to process the return of funds to the donor. There will be a charge posted to the students account in the amount of the scholarship. The student would need to pay this balance. |
